COURSE OBJECTIVE:
To consolidate and develop student knowledge, understanding and practical abilities in relation to Computer Science and ICT. This includes using technology safely and positively and creating technological solutions using modern design and development tools. The course also contains a theoretical aspect through the implementation of online, interactive training tools such as BBC Webswise.
LEVEL: S1 ICT (Level 3/4 CfE)
EXAM/ASSESSMENT: No formal assessment – formative and simple summative (homework + mini tests)
ACCESSIBILITY: The online workbooks are available with the PDFaloud plugin – this allows the documents to be read out loud to pupils at the same time as highlighting the text. This is designed to improve the LITERACY skills of the pupils we teach and, at the same time, build confidence in pupils that find extended reading more difficult.
